ABOUT ELK VALLEY ELEMENTARY
Principal's Welcome,
I am very excited to be serving as the principal of Elk Valley and look forward to leading our school to its greatest potential. It is my goal to work closely with you to ensure that the needs of your children are being met and to help make our school successful. With active parent participation, we will strive to make each day a positive and productive experience. Our students deserve the type of education that enables each one of them to have the courage and academic understanding to reach any goal and overcome any challenge so they can truly realize they have the ability to become anything they dream of becoming. It is through positive parental support that we make this significant difference in the lives of our students.

Sincerely,
Nancy Lay
Principal

Our History
Elk Valley Elementary is a small school nestled in the mountains of East Tennessee. The first school was a log building during the early 1800's. Eight grades were taught but for only four months. The next school was built in the late 1800's, followed by a third building built in the early 1900's. The current building was built in 1953 and housed grades kindergarten through eighth grades. Elk Valley has always provided a quality education to the students it has served. Many former students have become doctors, lawyers, teachers, entrepreneurs and successful members of society.
